CAN Foundation’s main goal is to provide avenues to students in need of help during college, and fresh entrants to the professional field. During the five years spent at an institution, apart from monetary support, the chief concern is getting opportunities to intern at prestigious law firms, companies, as also with Senior Advocates and other lawyers of outstanding repute.
CAN is entering into Memorandums of Understandings with top tier as well as mid tier Law Firms, to help our students (both volunteers as also the students whom the Foundation helps) procure such opportunities, to develop their understanding and refine their skills. These entities have been gracious enough to give the Foundation slots for internships, i.e. slots which shall be utilized for accommodating our student volunteers working selflessly for the Foundation as part of its various activities. Those candidates will be granted opportunities of internship, which after so recommended by the Foundation fit in the minimum benchmarks of the tie up firms.
The maiden MOU that has been executed, is with the coveted, Lakshmikumaran and Sreedharan Partners. In thirty-four years of building a name, it has expanded from a Tax practice to a full fledged multi-disciplinary, multi dimensional law firm. It boasts of Eleven offices across the country in its major cities and metros. The management has agreed to grant 10 (Ten) internship positions per year to the students associated with or recommended by the Foundation.
We are pleased to announce that Hemant Sahai Associates (HSA Advocates) is now the Effort Partner with CAN Foundation. We are grateful to HSA for having agreed to aid the Foundation in its initiatives and for supporting the Student Members in gaining practical exposure that would be required to excel in the field of law. This endeavor has been made possible due to the efforts of Mr. Alok Shankar (Partner, HSA Advocates) & Ms. Anubha Reddi (HR, HSA Advocates). A special call out to the immense amount of work put in by the students in making CAN grow to what it is today. We hope this collaboration is mutually benefitting for both organizations and wish that our diligent Student Members make the greatest use of such a coveted opportunity.
